Dallas Fort Worth International Airport Welcomes Freighter Service From Qatar Airways Cargo

 

Qatar Airways Cargo will launch a new freighter route connecting Dallas/Fort Worth to its global cargo network starting on January 19, 2016. Qatar Airways Cargo will utilize Boeing 777F freighter aircraft to fly the route two times per week from DFW to Liege, Belgium.

 

 

With the arrival of Qatar Airways Cargo, DFW will now have 18 air cargo carriers serving the Airport with flights to major cargo hubs worldwide.

“We are proud to welcome Qatar Airways Cargo, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing cargo carriers, to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport,” said John Ackerman, Executive Vice President of Global Strategy and Development for DFW Airport. “This addition to our air cargo network is a reflection of the strength of the Dallas/Fort Worth market. Cargo and logistics is a strategic priority, and will continue to help our Airport grow and create economic benefits for the Dallas/Fort Worth region.”

Airbus Group Recognises United Arab Emirates Professor For Promoting Diversity In Engineering

Airbus Group and the Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC) have named Professor Fadi Aloul of the American University of Sharjah (AUS) in the United Arab Emirates recipient of the 2015 Award for Diversity in Engineering Education.
The award was presented by Charles Champion, Executive Vice President Airbus Engineering and Patron of the Diversity Award at the GEDC annual meeting in Adelaide, Australia.

In addition to the global visibility which the award offers, Professor Aloul receives a significant financial contribution to support his work.

British Airways to launch the new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on its Dubai route from October 2016

British Airways has announced that its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, complete with a new First cabin, will start flying to Dubai from October 2016.

British Airways has announced that its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, complete with a new First cabin, This announcement follows the hugely successful launch of the 787-9 on British Airways’ Abu Dhabi and Muscat routes on November 5, 2015.

British Airways has also confirmed it will be flying the new 787-9 Dreamliner to Jeddah from July 2016.

Paolo De Renzis, Head of Middle East, Africa and Central Asia Sales for British Airways said, “We launched our 787-9 Dreamliner on the Abu Dhabi route last month and already we are receiving great feedback from our customers. Cebu Pacific’s Middle East, Australia Routes among Fastest Growing in its Network

The Philippines’ leading carrier, Cebu Pacific Air (PSE:CEB) rounded up its fastest growing routes for the first nine months of 2015, with its low-cost long-haul flights making the cut.

The countries or regions with the highest passenger growth from January to September 2015, compared to the same period last year, were Australia, the Middle East and Japan.

Based on September 2014 to September 2015 data from Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics, CEB garnered a 38% market share on the Manila-Sydney route. Overall traffic between Manila and Sydney also grew by 67% since CEB entered the market in September 2014.

CEB’s Middle East growth was driven by the launch of Kuwait, Riyadh and Doha in recent months, as part of the airline’s expansion in the region.

New Bending Tool from Schwarze-Robitec Reduces Cycle Times and Waste

Previously, three process steps were required in order to manufacture bent pipe components: cutting the pipe under consideration of span length and commercial length, the bending process itself, and the final cutting of the component. In order to make this process more efficient and economical, the pipe bending machine expert Schwarze-Robitec developed a new tool solution: a cutting device integrated into the bending tool. This makes it possible to bend and cut pipe components of commercially available lengths in a single process step. The users' benefit is a reduction of material waste of up to 90% and production times that are reduced significantly.
