GSETrack product and application specially developed for the use on non-motorized Ground Support Equipment
MUNICH, Germany – GSETrack, a joint venture of Undagrid and S-P-S International, will showcase its groundbreaking track & trace solution at Inter Airport Expo, to be held from October 6th 2015 in Munich, Germany. This solution ensures that non-motorized objects or ones not connected to the power grid can be easily traced in an energy efficient manner. You can find the revolutionary Internet-of-Things technology of GSETrack in hall 6, stand 280 at Inter Airport Expo.
The GSETrack solution is already being used in places such as Schiphol Airport, where baggage carts and aircraft stairs are fitted with Undagrid network technology. Undagrid, the technology partner in the joint venture, has recently been financially backed by Mainport Innovation Fund, a partnership between KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Rabobank, and the Delft University of Technology.
GSETrack – track & trace at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
GSETrack, a joint venture of Undagrid and S-P-S International, is a track & trace solution that ensures non-motorized objects or ones not connected to the power grid can be easily traced in an energy efficient manner. The application is used in places such as Schiphol Airport, where baggage carts and aircraft stairs are fitted with Undagrid network technology.
Objects share information
The devices on the objects transmit information to nearby devices, which in turn relay this information to others in their vicinity. This is how ground equipment such as dollies, carts, and staircases communicate their position to each other. An operator can check the location remotely via the cloud or a dashboard, which makes maintenance and equipment management for example more efficient and cost effective. Each device only needs one battery to keep the network operational for years at a time.
Great and simple solution
According to Undagrid's CEO and partner in GSETrack, Rolf van de Velde, “We believe that the only way to deliver a great and simple solution for the aviation industry, is to design it for it’s main purpose: ground support. Our GSETrack product and application is specially developed for the use on non-motorized Ground Support Equipment. It’s utterly simple. Although the network and hardware technology of GSETrack is pretty high tech, you, as a customer, only have to mount it and it works.”
How does GSETrack work?
How does it work in every day practice? Searching for available luggage- and cargo carts takes a lot of time. As a handler or airliner you want to know where the available equipment is to gain more efficiency. Tracking of non-motorized assets on airport aprons requires long distance communication and stand-alone power supply.
Installed in less than a minute
The GSETracker 1000 solves all of these problems. The tracker is merely a small device, which can be installed in less than a minute, without the need for IT skills on the ground. By equipping your assets with GSETrackers you instantly create a network across the airport apron through which every GSETracker communicates its change in position. Each individual GSETracker acts as a repeater of location messages received from nearby GSETrackers. The GSETracker 1000 includes enough battery capacity for 3 to 5 years of duty.
Webbased software solution
All information is constantly available anytime, anywhere via the GSETrack webbased software solution. For GSETrack there’s a standard integration with Salesforce with an optional full field service environment. Through an open data interface it’s also possible to integrate with your own existing systems.
To summarize – key benefits of GSETrack:
You need to know the location of equipment that needs periodic maintenance and by keeping maintenance logs you have the ability to commit to Service Level Agreements. You could even execute periodic maintenance based on usage (moving hours).
2) OPTIMIZE PERFORMANCE
Optimize your performance through analysis of the utilization of your equipment (ratio moving/parked) and historic locations (hotspots). To support the analysis custom reports are easily created.
3) WEBBASED PLATFORM
It’s a web based platform that fulfils all needs. All information in one location, from GSETracker and equipment registration to reporting and events. You can choose to use it for track & trace, maintenance or both. The highly practical application will give you an overview of all your equipment in one go. You will be able to view up-to-date information on whether it’s moving, standing still, what model it is, current battery level etc.
