Co-located shows open at Dubai World Trade Centre this week
Dubai, UAE. 01 February 2016: The latest innovations in aircraft interiors along with the newest technologies in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) will be drawing industry leaders from the region and beyond when co-located shows Aircraft Interiors Middle East (AIME) and MRO Middle East open at Dubai World Trade Centre on Wednesday.
The two-day annual event has a reputation for being an unmissable date in the aerospace calendar, with AIME being the only aircraft interiors event in the region. Recent aggressive expansion by regional airlines has spearheaded a growth in the industry, increasing demand for air travel; and trends towards modernisation of aircraft which are all in turn driving growth demand for both interiors and MRO.
Technavio's analysts forecast the global commercial aircraft cabin interior market to grow at a CAGR of 10.02 until 2019. The wide body aircraft segment was estimated to hold the highest share of 46.75% in the aircraft cabin interior market in 2015, followed by the narrow body aircraft segment that is estimated to account for a market share of 39.18%.
“The region really does have a need for this event,” says Michele van Akelijen, Managing Director of organisers F&E Aerospace. “With airlines in the Middle East leading the region’s industry growth, there is a huge appetite for the exhibitors’ offerings in this market.”
AIME 2016 will once again feature the Inflight IFEC Pavilion, workshop and Awards hosted by HMG Aerospace. The MRO Middle East 2016 event will also feature a two-day conference program where attendees benefit from dedicated sessions and roundtables encouraging discussion and collaboration on some of the key issues facing the industry. Of particular interest this year will be the Challenges for Airlines Since Disappearance of MH370 session, which will look at how the Malaysia Airlines incident has impacted the industry, and examine some of the repercussions for aviation; reactions and policies from ICAO and IATA; and the deadlines, thresholds and investment that airlines are now facing.
“MRO is a vital facet of the aerospace industry,” agrees Lydia Janow, Managing Director, Events, for Aviation Week Network. “The level of participation of key industry personnel at both speaker and delegate echelons demonstrates how important this show is in the region.”
Space for the co-located shows has been at a premium for some time, with exhibitors looking forward to meeting potential and existing customers and forging relationships during the two-day event. Among the 278 exhibitors will be Boxmark Leather, Aero-sense, Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries and Epsilon Aerospace. This year’s event has also seen a surge of first-time exhibitors including Madelec Aero and EIS Aircraft.
AIME and MRO Middle East 2016 takes place 3-4 February at Dubai World Trade Centre.
