Munich Airport joins international sustainable alliance

At the Airports Going Green conference hosted at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport, Munich Airport has signed a joint declaration of international aviation hubs committed to closer cooperation to achieve common sustainability goals. The initiative, known as the "Airports Sustainability Declaration", will focus on an intensive exchange in a spirit of partnership in order to make airport operations more efficient, innovative and sustainable. International framework agreements and targets such as the sustainability goals of the United Nations and the Carbon Accreditation Program of Airports Council International will play a key role in these efforts.

On hand to sign the declaration for Munich Airport was Vera Stelkens (4th from right), who heads the airport's Strategic Sustainability Management unit.

Other signatories, along with the host airport Amsterdam Schiphol and Munich, included London Heathrow,  London Gatwick, New York JFK, Chicago O’Hare, Dallas Fort Worth, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Brisbane, Eindhoven, Lithuanian Airports, Aéroports de Montréal and San Francisco International Airport.
