HID Global, at the forefront of secure identification at airports
posted on Dec 1, 2015
Bogota, November 30th, 2015. HID Global®, world’s leader in secure authentication, confirmed its participation at the Latin America Airport Expansion Summit, event that will take place in the Colombian capital city, Bogotá, on the 1st and 2nd of December, 2015.
According to Nawel Vargas, Regional Sales Manager – Andean Region for HID Global®, in this event, the company will bring a big amount of high – security solutions, which allows the airport to create, manage and control the secure identities that can be defined with multiple authentication factors, from the image personalization (that a first glance helps to ensure the veracity of a document), to the combination of biometric authentication factors of the personnel, in order to verify the identity of each of them.
It is important to consider that one of the main needs of airports is to ensure that the people working at a specific moment at the terminal are who they say they are; it can’t be ignored that the access of unauthorized personnel to high – security areas not just compromises the operation of the airport, but it risks the life of every person at the terminal. Therefore, in the last years several Latin American airports were involved in a transformation, in order to meet the current security standards of this market.
HID Global® has played an important role in the transformation process of important Latin American airports, such as the ones of Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, where the company implemented solutions that enable the combination of several authentication factors.
“To me, the renovation of the infrastructure and the technology of the Latin American airports is something very positive. But it is important to remember that this is a never-ending investment that needs to be updated permanently in order to face the new challenges to which the airports are exposed daily” said Vargas, who also invited the attendees to visit the HID Global® stand, where they will find the new technologies that the company brings to the market and will also be able to solve their main questions about the implementation of secure identity solutions.
Besides of the trade show, HID Global® will also be part of the academic agenda through a lecture focused on the secure identity trends for airports protection.
“We believe that it is very important to assist to his events for making direct contact with the managers of security systems of the airports. Besides, it is an important environment for listening to the users and to understand their current needs, which will allow us to develop new solutions that meet these requirements” concluded Vargas.
